The origin of Bomba rice variety remains uncertain. The growing of this variety in the Iberian Peninsula dates back to more than 125 years, preserving its original features and virtues. A study conducted by the Faculty of Biological Sciences at the University of Valencia brings to light different features in the growing area. In the Natural Park of la Albufera is where the rice Bomba gains its strong character, that will be expressed in every single dish. Bomba variety has a round and pearled grain, which absorbs every flavor and resists the overcooking very well. When boiled the grain size is lengthwise doubled.
