It is excellent for every type of rice dishes: creamy, broth, dry and oven-baked.

De Lucía offers you this rice variety directly from the Albufera Natural Park, grown following the Valencian traditions. In the Albufera privileged surroundings, with singular environmental  eatures, is where our extraordinary rice quality comes from.

The rice variety Albufera has a round grain with a visible pearl located laterally in the centre. Its origins come by crossing the Senia and Bomba varieties, both essential keys of the Valencian gastronomy.

The first variety provides its main virtue: the perfect absorption of broth. The second one, offers a  bigger expansion of the grain while cooking, keeping its shape and firmness for a loose rice.

After a few minutes standing, the rice Albufera gains a soft and creamy texture without hardening, keeping its morphology and consistency. This rice variety is a gastronomic reference in the Valencian restaurant industry, utterly appreciated by the best chefs.

The rice variety Albufera has been obtained by the Rice Department of IVIA (Valencian Institute of  Agricultural Studies) attached to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of the Valencia Regional Government.
